About the role

  • The Quality Assurance Engineer SME I supports testing and quality assurance activities for the task order by applying strong technical skills in software testing, automation, and quality engineering practices.
  • This role works closely with Automation Engineers, developers, and technical leads to ensure testing is thorough, repeatable, and aligned with mission objectives.
  • The SME I assists in implementing automation testing strategies and toolsets and helps integrate them into the development lifecycle.
  • They contribute to strengthening QA practices across cloud and data-driven solutions, supporting test coverage, regression health, and overall product quality.
  • This role collaborates with team members to support test planning, execution, and defect tracking, and helps communicate test results and risks to stakeholders.
  • The SME I continues to build expertise in modern quality engineering practices and applies emerging tools and techniques to improve testing effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience supporting software testing activities within a project or task order.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable contractor fitness determination
  • Experience working with Automation Engineers and development teams to support test execution and validation.
  • Experience working in environments utilizing modern cloud and data technologies.
  • Ability to assist in implementing automation testing strategies and toolsets.
  • Experience supporting integration of testing practices into development processes to enhance QA outcomes.
  • Minimum **2 years of experience** with software testing.
  • Experience supporting QA processes and adhering to established testing standards and procedures.
  • Ability to provide guidance to junior team members and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test results and identify defects and risks.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with modern quality engineering and test automation practices in cloud/data environments.
  • Demonstrated interest in staying current with QA/testing best practices and tools.
  • Strong written communication skills, including documenting test cases, results, and defects.
  • Ability to identify and recommend improvements to QA processes.
  • High professional discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive or mission-critical work.
