About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract negotiations
  • Coordinate commercial and legal reviews to ensure timely execution of agreements
  • Support project teams throughout contract fulfillment and construction
  • Coordinate preparation and execution of requests for proposals, term sheets, exhibits, and related contract documents
  • Collaborate with legal, engineering, procurement, construction, commercial, risk management, tax, accounting, and other stakeholders during negotiations
  • Lead commercial negotiations, RFP discussions, and commercial meetings with counterparties
  • Review and finalize EPC contract exhibits and related documents
  • Evaluate counterparty commercial comments and provide recommendations
  • Develop procedures for timely handover of executed agreements to internal teams
  • Maintain version control of EPC contracts, exhibits, and related documents
  • Draft and negotiate commercial terms and conditions in EPC contracts
  • Prepare compiled execution versions of EPC and other contracts
  • Provide contract support to project execution teams during construction
  • Track commercial decisions across the project portfolio for consistency
  • Establish processes for uniformity and efficiency in contract negotiations
  • Consult with departments on upstream/downstream contract terms affecting construction contracts and activities
  • Maintain contract templates and the contract library

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum five years' experience in contract negotiation and contract management, preferably in the solar or construction industry
  • Extensive experience negotiating, reviewing, and editing complex EPC contracts for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems
  • Ability to manage numerous challenging assignments simultaneously under aggressive deadlines and work extended hours when necessary
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to advise colleagues and team members on commercial risks and issues
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and team members
  • Superior decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated sound business judgment
  • Experience with project or contract management software such as Procore or Malbek
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and document control skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be based in the USA for the remote opportunity
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment
