About the role
- Ensure all day-to-day accounting, including tasks specific for any regulated assets, are properly researched, documented, and recorded in accordance with applicable guidelines
- Perform and oversee the full cycle accounting close procedures ensuring the monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks are completed timely and accurately
- Complete detailed review and needed research relative to required deliverables, to ensure accuracy within specified materiality limits
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures, ensuring they are in accordance with the applicable reporting guidance
- Oversee the quarterly IFRS reporting packages and if applicable, the annual US GAAP audit for assigned project entities
- Serve as a workflow and technical mentor to accountants
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA certification is highly preferred
- Significant experience working in a senior accounting role, with a strong focus on FERC reporting in the energy industry
- A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience working within an accounting department (preferably mid-size to large company) and/or in public accounting
- In-depth knowledge of FERC regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements
- Experience with SAP and BI/BW preferred
- Extensive experience with an integrated accounting software package along with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
