About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage client finances, including revenue recognition, financial reporting, forecasting, and process compliance
  • Supervise one or more Financial Analysts or Interns
  • Function as Business Manager on larger or more complex projects or clients
  • Coordinate data collection for client audits
  • Communicate with clients regarding budgets, billing, and accounts receivable issues
  • Maintain required client reporting and ensure timely completion
  • Support pricing of client proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and budget development
  • Support negotiation and review of client and vendor contracts
  • Ensure projects are managed in accordance with contracts and written client agreements are obtained and archived
  • Track project budgets against actuals and assist with client reporting
  • Review scopes, staffing plans, fees, expenses, billing reports, write-offs, and unbilled WIP
  • Analyze budget or forecast variances and prepare management reports
  • Identify and communicate profitability, utilization, revenue risk, staffing, and other financial concerns
  • Review fees for revenue recognition policy compliance
  • Facilitate billing coordination and ensure timely service-order processing
  • Minimize accounts receivable and credit risk and provide collection-status commentary
  • Supervise project setup and perform the Business Manager role for complex projects
  • Drive profitability and review staffing utilization, realization, and capacity
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies
  • Handle ad hoc requests and projects
  • Contribute to performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback
  • Supervise and train Finance personnel and remain accountable for their work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of five years of Finance or Accounting experience
  • In lieu of a degree, six years of Financial or Accounting experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Client service orientation and ability to foster positive working relationships
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Strong financial analysis and management skills
  • Good business acumen and ability to explain financial concerns in layman’s terms
  • Self-starter with initiative
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems
  • Ability to set clear expectations and deadlines, provide resources, monitor progress, and provide feedback
  • Commitment to continuous technical and leadership learning
