About the role
- Collaborate with client account leads and creative and digital teams to respond to client requests and plan projects
- Support account leads in developing targeted marketing communication plans based on sound strategic insight
- Manage the client relationship and act as the primary day-to-day point of contact
- Oversee full account management, including day-to-day activities, project planning, schedule development and execution process definition
- Play a central role in researching, planning, developing and executing campaigns
- Tailor the presentation of ideas, narratives and campaigns to suit the audience (specialists, journalists)
- Have deep expertise in brand channels, organic media coverage, media buying and social media, and integrate them to create comprehensive communication programs
- Present ideas persuasively to media, clients and team members
- Act as the day-to-day contact for public relations and communications specialists (for both consumer and B2B marketing services)
- Demonstrate a practical, thorough understanding of all aspects of marketing communications, including digital and social media, in-store advertising, visual content, organic media coverage and traditional advertising
- Train, mentor and support team members
- Demonstrate a solid grasp of basic financial principles, including revenue, profitability, pricing structures (hourly billing and fee retainers), resource utilization, and preparing budgets and financial forecasts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution (preferred)
- Deep understanding of traditional, social and digital media in support of consumer-facing brands
- Five to seven years of public relations experience; preference will be given to candidates with relevant industry experience or knowledge
- Excellent organizational skills and superior project management abilities; proven ability to manage multiple large accounts and diverse collaborators simultaneously, including clients across time zones and external agency partners
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to write for a variety of platforms
- Proven ability to multitask effectively, delegate and manage assignments, and accurately assess others’ work
- Knowledge of best practices in communications techniques and PR tools, with the ability to recommend them appropriately and oversee execution of related projects internally
- Ability to act as a client-facing contact and be responsible for each account’s financial management, including managing large projects within budget
- Enthusiasm and willingness to take on rewarding professional challenges; ability to motivate and inspire junior team members to demonstrate behaviors aligned with Edelman’s values (quality, integrity, respect, entrepreneurship, mutual benefit) and its Business Ethics and Conduct Code
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
