Monitoring and flagging coverage across client, competitor, and industry news, in addition to developing media coverage reports and flagging major media moves across the industry
Conducting background research, compiling, and analyzing media or competitor coverage
Providing client service and cross-team support by attending meetings, preparing agendas and recaps, taking detailed notes, handling scheduling and logistics, preparing client status and activity reports
Developing briefing materials, including schedules, messaging and reporter background, to support media interviews for corporate tech executives/spokespeople
Researching, outlining, writing, editing, and proofreading press materials, specifically press releases, media pitches, interview briefs, fact sheets, contributed articles, client correspondence and other materials
Demonstrating an understanding of research techniques, including analysis of media coverage and online conversation (volume and tone), and identification and categorization of various stakeholders, including organization and individuals to be engaged by clients
Engaging with media including developing relationships with reporters and influencers on behalf of the client
Participating in team-wide and client-facing brainstorms related to announcement and media strategy, pitch ideas, messaging and more
Understanding key client information including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers, and competitors
Proactively identifying opportunities to showcase client thought leadership through awards, speaking engagements, contributed content, and media placements
Monitoring emerging technology trends (e.g., AI agents, data privacy, digital transformation) and proactively advising clients on media opportunities and narrative pivots
Requirements
At least 1 year of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated interest and understanding of the enterprise technology and AI industry and basic principles of integrated communications marketing
Experience in Communications, Marketing and/or related fields, including research, advertising, management consulting, media or publishing
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of tech industry landscape and top tech journalists, outlets, influencers
Ability to use social media platforms for story mining and industry trendspotting
Ability to adapt to new conditions, deadlines and assignments
Solid knowledge of the MS Office suite
Familiarity with using AI tools like ChatGPT to enhance content development, research, and workflow efficiency; comfortable exploring emerging technologies to uplevel work and drive smarter results
Strong grasp of the AI and enterprise software landscape, with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling communications
Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy
