Application Engineer – Passive Fire Protection

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Driving specification and demand for Passive Fire Protection systems
- Building strong relationships with installers, contractors, engineers, architects, and inspectors
- Running installer, contractor, and union training sessions
- Identifying and tracking project-based opportunities from early design through install
- Providing technical guidance, system recommendations, and submittals
- Influencing specifications early
- Working closely with distributors to support project execution and availability
- Using value-based selling to highlight performance, compliance, and labor efficiency
- Keeping CRM updated with pipeline activity, forecasts, and market insight
- Feeding back competitor activity, customer needs, and product gaps to internal teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in technical sales, field applications, or commercial roles within construction, insulation, fire protection, or industrial markets
- Solid knowledge of Passive Fire Protection systems (or closely related products)
- Confidence working with installers, contractors, engineers, and specifiers
- The ability to explain technical detail clearly
- A practical, organised approach and comfort managing your own territory
- Willingness to travel regularly and spend time on-site
- Strong communication skills and a relationship-first mindset
- Comfort working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
