About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the team to effectively direct and coordinate material handling activities
- Ensure all reports are developed to fulfill expectations of their duties
- Set objectives for cross-training employees
- Lead safety program and drive continuous improvement
- Direct inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing and customer service
- Ensure operational compliance with standards, policies and procedures
- Develop direct reports and promote 100% employee engagement
- Drive communications with contacts across business and foster close relationships with key vendors/suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma or equivalent/GED and 4 years of experience in a manufacturing, logistics or related environment
- 4 years of experience in logistics, transportation and/or warehousing environments
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Must be able to work with formal ERP Warehouse Management Systems, preferably SAP
- Experience in managing 3rd Party Logistics Providers, including an understanding of cost models
- Experience in TPM, Lean, and/or 5S
