About the role
- Leads and executes audits of increased complexity and scope, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, testing, issue validation and reporting.
- Develops audit scope and objectives using a risk-based methodology and designs audit programs.
- Performs and/or oversees interviews and walkthroughs; evaluates control design and operating effectiveness.
- Identifies control gaps, root causes and risk implications; develops practical, risk-aligned recommendations.
- Drafts clear, well-supported audit observations and reports; communicates results to business leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field, or 6+ years of student loan work experience or 5+ years of experience in internal audit, public accounting or risk management within financial services or a comparably regulated industry.
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead and manage projects and initiatives from planning through execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CIA, CPA).
