About the role

  • Develop, maintain, and manage an accurate and comprehensive cataloguing system for all equipment, materials, and spare parts utilized in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ensure that catalogued items are correctly identified, described, and classified, categorized according to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Work closely with procurement, user department, and operations teams to ensure cataloguing is consistent with operational requirements and technical specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and databases related to catalogued equipment and materials, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct regular audits of catalogued items and implement improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency in cataloguing processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to update and validate catalogued items, including the addition of new equipment and materials.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional teams regarding cataloguing practices, ensuring alignment with project and operational requirements.
  • Maintain a robust system for tracking part numbers, descriptions, and lifecycle status of catalogued equipment.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of cataloguing procedures to meet the dynamic needs of the oil and gas industry.
  • Ensure all cataloguing work is following applicable safety and regulatory standards, as well as internal procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cataloguing, engineering, or materials management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven knowledge of oil and gas equipment, materials, and parts.
  • Familiarity with industry cataloguing standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 9001, API standards).
  • Experience using cataloguing or asset management software (Knowledge of ERP Systems).
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, engineering specifications, and data management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
