About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate prospective clients by analyzing financial statements, collateral, and risk factors to support informed credit decisions.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and senior management, coordinating due diligence, funding, and onboarding while ensuring compliance with the company’s risk framework and best practices.
  • Coordinate and analyze results of due diligence searches, audits, and background reports.
  • Where appropriate, meet and/or interview the prospective client’s management team onsite.
  • Collate and review prospective client’s historical and projected financial statements, cash flows, availability of collateral value ensuring accurately reflected in Sanction Request.
  • Identify critical transactional/structural risks and communicate issues to senior management.
  • Completion of the Sanction Request in compliance with the Risk Framework in collaboration with the Sales Team member.
  • Facilitate the effective hand over of new client to Operations staff servicing the facility.
  • Coordinate internally and externally; including with third-parties such as existing lenders, partner lenders, appraisers, outside counsel and industry consultants bringing in senior management at the appropriate time.
  • Support networking activities as needed.
  • Undertake project work as required by the local and/or group companies.
  • Coordinate the initial funding of transactions including the closing/reconciliation of good faith deposits and the preparation of funding documentation and memos.

Requirements

  • High attention to detail
  • Organizational skills essential
  • Strong skills regarding transaction structuring.
  • High level of familiarity with documentation specific to Factoring facilities.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships.
  • Work in a fast-moving team environment.
  • Must be able to manage several projects in varying stages at the same time.
  • Must be able to take ownership / responsibility of work product.
  • Ability to present with professionalism and confidence to external committees, stakeholders, and investors.
  • Consistent and timely follow up essential to Team/Sales/Mgmt; etc
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Undergraduate degree in finance or other business-related field preferred or undergraduate degree supplemented with relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Underwriter.
  • Background in Factoring required.
