About the role
- Work as part of a team to ensure all summer centre locations are fully staffed, meeting operational requirements and adhering to the British Council accreditation scheme.
- Recruit staff in line with British Council accreditation guidelines, promoting safer recruitment practices to safeguard the wellbeing of young learners.
- Assess applications against role criteria to create a shortlist of qualified candidates.
- Conduct structured interviews to evaluate suitability, ensuring all recruitment decisions align with safeguarding policies and best practices.
- Follow robust recruitment and selection procedures, focusing on safer recruiting to protect the welfare of students while hiring the best candidates for temporary summer roles.
- Coordinate onboarding and maintain administrative processes for new hires, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment and company policies.
- Use recruitment software and tools to streamline shortlisting, interview scheduling, and tracking candidate progress.
- Assist with staff enquiries and deliver ongoing HR support during the summer operational period, ensuring employees feel valued and informed.
- Position Embassy Summer as the preferred employer for temporary summer school staff, ensuring all interactions reflect our brand values and commitment to safeguarding.
Requirements
- Educated to A Level / High School level or above.
- Excellent communication skills; must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to manage own workload and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Computer literate with practical knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
- Experience of working in summer schools or an EFL environment.
- Experience of working in HR / Recruitment & Selection (educational industry preferred).
- An understanding of welfare and safeguarding good practice guidelines.
- An understanding of safer recruitment good practice guideline.
- Database management experience.
