About the role
- Shape eBay’s risk & compliance strategy by leading analytics and insights initiatives that safeguard against buyer, seller, and compliance risks
- Build scalable data systems by guiding the development of robust data pipelines, models, and monitoring frameworks for timely and accurate detection
- Define and measure success through metrics, dashboards, and reporting that communicate marketplace health and guide decision-making
- Drive experimentation and inference using simulations, scenario modeling, and A/B testing to evaluate policies and controls
- Deliver actionable insights that balance marketplace safety with a seamless customer experience
- Lead and grow a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and a data-driven culture
- Form and lead cross-functional teams; report to the Director of Risk Analytics and contribute to marketplace trust at scale
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience managing high-performing analytics or engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and providing clear performance feedback
- Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, data modeling, and pipeline development
- Experience with big data environments (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
- Knowledge of analytics engineering best practices
- Ability to translate complex data into clear strategies and recommendations for partner teams
- Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence leaders and stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple domains, balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day operational excellence
