Technical Service Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides high-level engineering support, troubleshooting, and optimization for rotating equipment
- Performs and directs key investigations, projects, and related activities requiring independent action
- Assists field engineers in resolving major technical matters pertaining to start-up, operation, and maintenance problems
- Makes personal visitations to customers to obtain firsthand information when troubles exist
- Responsible for investigating, developing, presenting, and implementing corrective steps
- Operates vibration diagnostic equipment for analyzing and documenting field vibration problems
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure effective problem-solving of reported field troubles
- Prepares technical reports on mechanical and aerodynamic performance troubles for warranty negotiation
- Develops Service Engineers by furthering their experience and increasing their knowledge in problem-solving procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering or a similar discipline
- 4+ years’ engineering experience with rotating equipment (compressors, turbines, pumps, etc.)
- Prior experience troubleshooting complex machinery preferred
- Working knowledge of product specifications and manufacturing principles
- Prior customer support experience preferred
- Experience troubleshooting vibration issues preferred
