About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Planning and coordination of activities, and monitoring of measures; no hands-on execution required.
  • Use and continuous improvement of the software tool for planning and organizing maintenance and upkeep tasks.
  • Planning and coordination of routine inspections, identifying potential issues, and implementing maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
  • Creating checklists and monitoring their execution by the operations manager.
  • Collaborating with operations and engineering teams to develop and optimize maintenance schedules for mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical failures, providing timely and effective solutions to restore equipment functionality.
  • Overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of turbines, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and related components.
  • Responsible for inventory and stocktaking of spare parts and consumables, including use of software tools and internal company processes.
  • Developing and implementing safety procedures and protocols for mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Providing technical support during equipment overhauls, shutdowns, and planned maintenance activities.
  • Training and mentoring maintenance staff to enhance their skills and ensure high levels of expertise in ORC power plant mechanical systems.
  • Documenting all maintenance activities, including reports on equipment condition, work performed, and recommendations for improvements.
  • Planning and coordination of all required inspections (e.g., TÜV) and approvals.
  • Maintaining and continuously updating the inspection register within the software.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum qualification: Certified industrial foreman (Industriemeister) or technician (Techniker) in maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years' proven experience in mechanical maintenance within power plants or industry.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools to assess equipment health.
  • Understanding of rotating equipment, lubrication systems, and mechanical seals.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and protocols in industrial environments, power plants or electricity generation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to make informed decisions under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external service providers.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for efficient tracking of maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations for emergency maintenance situations.
  • Fluent in German and English, both spoken and written.
