About the role
- The Milieu Therapist is a licensed therapist who facilitates skills groups and psychotherapy groups based on core curriculum
- Provides meal monitoring and meal support
- Offers milieu support, de-escalation, and behavior coaching to patients in inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care
- Documentation of groups, meals and patient check-ins and observations
- Provides support to Milieu including De-escalation and crisis management
- Monitoring outside breaks
- Conducts self-harm and suicide assessment
- Implements individual behavior management plans for some patients and serves as clinical lead for the program
Requirements
- Graduate degree in mental health or related degree program - required
- Bachelors degree - required
- Intern or associate license from appropriate state licensing board - required
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic principles and techniques - required
- Ability to manage group dynamics effectively
- Proficient in keeping timely, detailed and accurate records - required
- Demonstrated ability to handle crisis situations effectively - required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Required
