About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the daily operations of assigned therapy centers and coordinate delivered services, program planning, and policy implementation
- Provide clinical supervision and work direction to therapists and administrative associates, including training, clinical consultation, and professional development
- Provide discipline-specific treatment for children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities
- Evaluate, plan, document, and maintain individualized treatment plans
- Partner with interdisciplinary teams to provide consultation
- Coach family members and participants on incorporating skills and techniques into home routines
- Instruct family members on safe use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology
- Manage, direct, train, and discipline clinical and administrative associates while ensuring program compliance
- Ensure participant and associate safety and security
- Interview, select, and assess associates
- Provide clinical oversight of assessments, behavior intervention, case assignments, and associate training protocols
- Review documentation for regulatory and program compliance and quality assurance
- Evaluate program needs and develop and implement services
- Attend or conduct meetings and in-services regarding clinical therapy services
- Remain current on autism, special education, and related-field research and trends
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s Degree in occupational therapy, physical therapy, or speech language pathology
- Current state or national certification and/or licensure in accordance with California state practice
- Current CPR certification
- 3 years’ experience with infants/young children with disabilities, including autism
- At least 2 years of prior supervisory experience
- Knowledge of licensed area of practice, interdisciplinary early intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practices
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Familiarity with early intervention and approaches based on Applied Behavior Analysis
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and work cooperatively with diverse individuals and groups
- Ability to interact effectively with children and families and maintain a positive affect
- Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with sensitive situations and documentation
- Good judgment and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and related software
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and TB test
- Proof of required vaccinations or positive immunity titer; signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and FBI
- Ability to travel locally, maintain a compliant driving record, auto insurance, and vehicle registration
- Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, twisting, speaking, and listening required
- Up to 10% local travel
