About the role
- Manage the day-to-day execution and tracking of EAF’s political campaigns program.
- Work closely with regional teams and EAF leadership to support political strategy across the organization.
- Manage relationships with key national and state grantees that engage in state-level political work.
- Support regional teams on planning and strategy for political work.
- Support Senior Program Director, Campaigns, and Program Director, Campaigns, in ensuring political work integrates with legislative program, particularly in the context of state planning.
- Maintain relationships with in-state consultant infrastructure to ensure EAF team remains up-to-date on political dynamics.
- Lead in determining goals and metrics for EAF’s political campaigns.
- Support EAF team in planning and executing convenings and events related to political strategy.
- Manage tracking systems for political work, including our annual tracker for grantee budgets and targets.
- Maintain close partnerships with key multi-state or national groups who are engaged in state politics.
Requirements
- At least three cycles of electoral experience in progressive leadership roles
- At least one cycle of experience working on independent expenditure campaigns
- Hands-on experience in the non-profit advocacy community, ideally in relation to campaign design, creation, and implementation
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders on political campaign strategy
- Familiarity with political campaign budgets
- Skilled at coping with unexpected events, prioritizing and handling several projects simultaneously, and developing clear and realistic action plans with strong attention to detail
- An orientation toward service, inclusion, collaboration, and clear communication, understanding that supporting others is fundamental to success in the role.
- Team player who is able to establish rapport internally and with funding partners, grantees, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with fundraising and donor engagement
- Familiarity with clean energy and climate policy issues, particularly at the state level
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to present complex information clearly, succinctly, and in a meaningful way to leadership, funding partners, and allies.
- A demonstrated ability to manage work across multiple stakeholders in a complex, multi-site, diverse organization, in line with the organization’s inclusion efforts.
