About the role
- Sr. Project Manager – AMI 2.0 to own Building resource plans across integration, data, infrastructure, and testing workstreams.
- Hybrid (2x per week) - Rosemead, Alhambra.
- Responsibilities include resource planning, solution blueprinting, build plan preparation, IT business process & requirements planning, SI engagement & RFP support.
- Oversight of end-to-end phased system integration, including lab testing, field testing, and production readiness.
- Risk, quality & change control; grid modernization and resilience focus.
Requirements
- Resource Planning & Effort Modeling Experience in this area should include: Building resource plans across integration, data, infrastructure, and testing workstreams. Familiarity with adaptive capacity planning and portfolio management to align with evolving grid modernization goals Ability to model effort based on technical scope and delivery phases, especially in environments with phased rollouts and evolving requirements
- Technical Solution Blueprinting: Experience developing high-level solution blueprints that define scope, schedule, and budget. Exposure to POC and field test strategy, system integration planning, and stakeholder engagement as outlined in the AMI 2.0 RFI and vendor conference materials Understanding of how AMI 2.0 supports grid hardening, customer experience, and adaptive infrastructure
- Analyze Phase & Build Plan Preparation: Key capabilities include: Leading solution design validation and technical feasibility reviews. Planning for environment readiness and development sequencing. Familiarity with Site Tracker or similar tools used for project tracking and invoicing transitions
- IT Business Process & Requirements Planning: Experience should cover: Mapping IT processes to functional requirements and delivery capabilities. Facilitating workshops for light requirement gathering and understanding AMI 2.0 capabilities Working with SMEs to translate business needs into technical specifications.
- SI Engagement & RFP Support: Candidates should be able to: Coordinate technical evaluations of SI responses and support vendor selection. Understand the competitive landscape, including players like Infosys and Deloitte Align with OEM partners and navigate complex procurement environments, including Smartsourcing contracts
- Qualifications: Project Delivery Fundamentals: Proven ability to manage unstructured phases and evolve scope as environments change . Experience with firm fixed price projects , strategic resourcing , and maturity model assessments
- Solution & Implementation Oversight: Oversight of end-to-end phased system integration , including lab testing, field testing, and production readiness
- Risk, Quality & Change Control: Ability to manage risks associated with leadership transitions and vendor competition. Experience in quality assurance across multiple deployment sites and workstreams
- Business & Technical Acumen: Understanding of grid modernization, clean energy goals, and how AMI 2.0 supports decarbonization and resilience. Ability to influence technology roadmaps and apply lessons learned from AMI 1.0
