Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in the design of overhead transmission lines, including:
Plan and profile development
Structure spotting support
Basic drafting and design tasks
Support engineering calculations such as:
Sag and tension analysis
Clearance checks
Learn and utilize industry software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD)
Assist in preparing engineering drawings, reports, and material lists
Coordinate with internal teams including structural, environmental, and survey groups
Participate in field visits and site assessments as needed
Support quality control processes and documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
0–3 years of relevant experience (internship experience acceptable)
EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6–12 months
Strong interest in transmission line engineering and infrastructure projects
Exposure to PLS-CADD or similar engineering software (preferred)
Familiarity with basic engineering design principles and standards (preferred)
Internship or coursework related to power delivery or structural design (preferred)
