About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist emergency room team in a consultant role to provide clinical care, evaluation and disposition recommendation to patients presenting to the emergency room in mental health or substance abuse crisis.
- Provides written recommendation for level of care and coordinates placement, plan and/or referral as needed.
- Conduct face-to-face or virtual (telehealth) consultations with patients in crisis.
- Recommend appropriate level of clinical care.
- Collaborates with community care team and caregivers to provide patient-centered recommendation.
- Provides ongoing reassessment and crisis intervention while patient remains in the emergency room.
- Coordinates with placement team and/or community partners to support disposition recommendation.
- Referrals of patients to outpatient services either within or outside the system.
- Remains up to date with current resources and patient access referrals.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or other mental health profession
- 2 to 5 years experience in a behavioral health setting
- Direct clinical experience in a hospital, mental health, or clinic setting (preferred)
- 1 year crisis management skills in hospital, clinic, or managed care setting (preferred)
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - MN Board of Social Work required upon hire or
- Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist - MN Board of Marriage and Family Therapy required upon hire or
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor - MN Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy required upon hire or
- Licensed Psychologist-MN Board of Psychology required upon hire
