Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be 18 years of age
Completed a Medical Assistant program or a comparable healthcare education program with clinical training
Candidates with fewer than six (6) months of Medical Assistant experience must have completed a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or equivalent clinical practicum
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
Medical Terminology knowledge
Must meet at least ONE of the certification requirements (e.g., Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Medical Assistant certification preferred)
