About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Transcribe court proceedings, trials, and depositions from audio recordings with precision
- Accurately identify speakers and capture all spoken content in verbatim format
- Apply quality assurance measures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court formatting rules
- Demonstrate understanding of legal terminologies, colloquy, and court-specific language
- Manage 1-3 day turnaround times, allowing minimum of 1 day per 1 hour of assigned audio
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in transcribing court proceedings, trials, and depositions
- Experience transcribing large jury trials is a plus!
- AAERT certified applicants will have premier consideration for the position
- Ability to distinguish and format Q&A and colloquy format
- Competence in using transcription software and Microsoft Office
- Willingness to undergo a skills assessment test
