About the role

  • Lead and contribute to mechanical asset optimisation projects across EIS, including supporting planned and unplanned outages
  • Provide expert mechanical engineering advice across heat and power assets, auxiliary plant, and mechanical pipework systems
  • Support the development and delivery of risk-based maintenance strategies and ensure compliance with PSSR and SAFed standards
  • Assist with mechanical and boiler maintenance contract management, including technical input into procurement and contractor performance reviews
  • Define and deliver mechanical engineering solutions to improve asset performance within defined project budgets and objectives
  • Act as a Technical Authority for mechanical asset governance, supporting the update of IMS documents and safety rules
  • Collaborate closely with O&M teams, Design teams, and other AOG teams to foster a culture of Process Safety and continuous improvement
  • Support incident investigations, Panels of Inquiry, and lessons learned exercises across EIS sites
  • Ensure all work is aligned with financial standards and procurement principles

Requirements

  • A relevant Mechanical Engineering degree, HNC, or equivalent
  • Significant experience with boilers and auxiliary mechanical plant in the power or heat generation sectors
  • Strong working knowledge of PSSR regulations and SAFed guidance for steam and hot water boilers
  • Proven experience delivering engineering projects and working within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to diagnose operational problems, develop innovative solutions, and manage contracts
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce clear reports
  • Business financial awareness and experience managing project budgets
  • Full UK Driving Licence
