About the role
- Lead and contribute to mechanical asset optimisation projects across EIS, including supporting planned and unplanned outages
- Provide expert mechanical engineering advice across heat and power assets, auxiliary plant, and mechanical pipework systems
- Support the development and delivery of risk-based maintenance strategies and ensure compliance with PSSR and SAFed standards
- Assist with mechanical and boiler maintenance contract management, including technical input into procurement and contractor performance reviews
- Define and deliver mechanical engineering solutions to improve asset performance within defined project budgets and objectives
- Act as a Technical Authority for mechanical asset governance, supporting the update of IMS documents and safety rules
- Collaborate closely with O&M teams, Design teams, and other AOG teams to foster a culture of Process Safety and continuous improvement
- Support incident investigations, Panels of Inquiry, and lessons learned exercises across EIS sites
- Ensure all work is aligned with financial standards and procurement principles
Requirements
- A relevant Mechanical Engineering degree, HNC, or equivalent
- Significant experience with boilers and auxiliary mechanical plant in the power or heat generation sectors
- Strong working knowledge of PSSR regulations and SAFed guidance for steam and hot water boilers
- Proven experience delivering engineering projects and working within multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to diagnose operational problems, develop innovative solutions, and manage contracts
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce clear reports
- Business financial awareness and experience managing project budgets
- Full UK Driving Licence
