About the role

  • You will develop tailored large-scale on-site energy solutions for data centers in our core markets, contributing to the segment’s growth ambitions, advancing decarbonization and strengthening competitiveness.
  • You will analyze market trends, customer needs and competitors, identify new business opportunities and optimize the existing solution portfolio — aiming to build a strong project pipeline for the segment.
  • You will be responsible for identifying and approaching new customers within the data center industry and successfully maintain a high-performing network — including with internal stakeholders.
  • You will develop business cases and energy concepts for customers, conduct contract negotiations and present proposals to customers and E.ON management.
  • You will drive decarbonization by deploying technologies such as CHP, biomass, recycled energy, waste-to-energy, green molecules, heat pumps, batteries and digitalization with IQ Energy, and take responsibility for all project management tasks within a multidisciplinary, international team up to contract signing.

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business, Energy Engineering or a comparable program with a strong technical focus; an MBA is a plus
  • Extensive experience in the data center industry with demonstrable expertise in customer acquisition and sales, development of industrial energy solutions and/or project development for data centers
  • Solid knowledge in designing energy systems, including regulatory and energy-economics aspects
  • Ability to integrate technical, commercial and legal project requirements holistically and to manage internal and external interfaces effectively
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with high self-initiative and the ability to structure complex problems and take responsibility for implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build sustainable relationships with customers and stakeholders in an international environment
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken (at least B2); willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 20%)
