About the role
- The Data steward is responsible for maintaining the quality, accuracy, and completeness of critical business data.
- Auditing, validating, and entering data across systems to support operational excellence and data integrity.
- Collaborate with business teams to ensure consistent data standards and help drive confidence in enterprise data.
- Document and maintain the official business terminology, definitions, and data lineage in the enterprise data catalog/dictionary.
- Coordinate US and China data governance initiatives and deliver routine or ad-hoc data reports and dashboards.
- Promote a culture of data literacy, responsibility, and stewardship by developing training materials and educating data owners and users on best practices.
- Work with US data governance team and cross-functional teams closely to ensure alignment and communicate with stakeholders about governance progress and goals.
- Streamline and expedite the data request fulfillment process for business users.
- Leading initiatives to improve data quality, including data profiling, cleansing, and monitoring. Establishing and maintaining transparent reporting mechanisms.
- Help develop and monitor a road map for data governance enhancement and maturity assessments.
Requirements
- Over 5 years working experience.
- Requires a bachelor's degree or above in computer science or data management-related fields.
- Fluent in English (spoken, reading, and writing), capable of using it as a working language.
- Adopt to cross-culture and cross-time zone communication.
- Excellent in Excel and other office software is required.
- Excellent Power BI is preferred.
- Certification like CDGA/CDGP/CDMP is a plus.
- Experience participating in corporate data governance initiatives or MDM process optimization projects.
- Experience in Beauty industry or FMCG supply chain operations is a strong advantage.
- Prior involvement in end-to-end SAP or Centric project implementation is a plus.
