About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Supporting the development of backend services that power our meter data integration platform
Connecting with external systems including supplier APIs and SFTP portals
Contributing to the development and maintenance of integrations with third-party supplier and grid operator APIs
Supporting the implementation of data exchange mechanisms with SFTP portals
Developing and maintaining backend APIs using Python (FastAPI)
Working with SQLAlchemy to manage database operations
Gaining practical experience implementing OAuth 2.0 and other authentication mechanisms
Writing unit and integration tests to verify the correctness of integration components
Collaborating with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

0-2 years of professional backend development experience
Solid understanding of Python
Familiarity with RESTful API concepts
Comfortable working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0
Experience or enthusiasm for integrating with third-party APIs
Experience with SFTP protocols
Familiarity with testing concepts and frameworks for backend code
Basic familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and Docker containers
