About the role
- Perform installation and implementation of storage systems and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) from vendors such as Dell, IBM and HPE
- Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise backup systems using Dell NetWorker, Veeam, and Commvault Archiving
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of virtualization environments
- Manage and maintain organization's data storage systems ensuring availability, integrity, and security
- Work with other IT teams (network, database, application) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
- Manage and operate backup solutions including job creation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting
- Ensure backup solution disaster readiness and backup operations functionality in disaster recovery situations
- Work with application stakeholders to define backup policies, recovery objectives, backup schedules and recovery time objectives
- Collaborate with senior engineers to support and maintain data center infrastructure
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including Low-Level Design (LLD) and As-Built documentation
- Support day-to-day data center operations, including equipment racking, cabling, and hardware maintenance
- Apply technology best practices, upgrades, vendor recommendations, and adhere to SLAs/OLAs and KPIs
- Perform regular backup jobs, system restores, replication, and archiving of data across on-prem environments
- Follow best practices and procedures to ensure a secure, stable, and high-performing environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Typically, 5+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role
- Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis
- Proficiencies in data analysis and problem-solving
- Strong understanding of Dell PowerMax, Dell PowerScale & Cisco SAN Switches technologies (SAN, NAS, cloud storage)
- Hands on experience with enterprise backup solutions including Dell EMC NetWorker, Veeam Backup and Replication and Commvault
- Experience performing installation and implementation of storage systems and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) from vendors such as Dell, IBM and HPE
- Experience deploying and configuring virtualization environments
- Knowledge of operating systems, networking concepts, and backup solutions
- Experience administering, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise backup systems and archiving
- Ability to work with other IT teams (network, database, application) for data storage and retrieval
- Experience managing and operating backup solutions including job creation, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, including Low-Level Design (LLD) and As-Built documentation
- Experience supporting day-to-day data center operations, including equipment racking, cabling, and hardware maintenance
- Understanding of networking fundamentals and data center operations
- Experience ensuring backup solution disaster readiness and backup operations functionality in disaster recovery situations
- Ability to work with application stakeholders to define backup policies, recovery objectives, backup schedules and recovery time objectives
- Apply technology best practices, upgrades, vendor recommendations, and adhere to SLAs/OLAs and KPIs
- Follow best practices and procedures to ensure a secure, stable, and high-performing environment
- Continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
- Nice-to-have: advanced degree in a relevant field
- Nice-to-have: strong working knowledge of ScaleIO, Isilon, Dell Data Protection, Data Domain (incl. CRS), Veeam Backup and Replication and Commvault Archival solution

- Nice-to-have: relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Security+
