About the role

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance tuning, and security of IBM CICS Transaction Server and IBM MQ on z/OS.
  • Ensure high availability, resilience, and optimal performance for mission‑critical workloads.
  • Configure and customize CICS regions and manage CICSPlex SM for workload balancing.
  • Monitor and tune CICS regions and MQ subsystems using RMF/SMF, OMEGAMON, Sysview or equivalent.
  • Define and manage CICS resources and MQ objects, collaborating with application teams.
  • Implement RACF/ACF2 security for CICS regions and MQ resources.

Requirements

  • Expertise in IBM CICS TS architecture, configuration, and tuning on z/OS.
  • Strong knowledge of CICSPlex SM for multi‑region management.
  • In‑depth knowledge of IBM MQ administration on z/OS.
  • Strong z/OS fundamentals: JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, JES2, SMF/RMF.
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation (REXX, JCL; z/OSMF desirable).
  • Familiarity with DB2, IMS, and performance tooling (OMEGAMON, Sysview).
