About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Day-to-day handling of a portfolio compromising of Casualty claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving and settlement, in accordance with Global Claims Handling guidelines, service standards and regulations.
- Ensure reserving philosophy is adhered to and reserves booked are in compliance with company protocols.
- Collaborate with Underwriting and Actuarial teams in connection with claim issues, trends, review of reinsurance contract language and service standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers and market peers.
- Monitor trends and developments in Casualty claims and keep underwriters and actuaries up to date.
- Keep up to date with legal developments, i.e. relevant case law; new and developing precedents; changes in legislation that impacts the portfolios.
- Collaborate with members of the Global claims team on common claims and internal processes to ensure consistency.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Some exposure to claims handling, insurance, legal support, or a similar environment would be preferable.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to review and understand information accurately.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to learning and developing your technical knowledge.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and build positive working relationships.
- Basic commercial awareness and an interest in understanding client needs.
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing priorities with support.
- Previous and tangible Claims experience, dealing with claims from cradle to grave, preferably including EL/PL & Casualty, but we will also consider applications from those with Motor and other experience.
