About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and build core primitives for agentic systems, including memory, context management, tool-calling, orchestration, and feedback loops
  • Develop reusable agentic infrastructure to introduce new workflows quickly and reliably
  • Build evaluation and observability frameworks for testing, tracing, debugging, and assessing AI agents before production deployment
  • Create coding-agent and specialized-subagent workflows that explore repositories, implement changes, review architecture, run evaluations, and iterate with minimal human coordination
  • Design systems integrating specialized agents, tools, deterministic software, and humans
  • Decide when to use LLMs, traditional software, human intervention, or coordinated agents
  • Partner with operational and product teams to understand acquired-agency workflows and identify automation opportunities
  • Turn complex operational processes into reliable production systems
  • Define architectural patterns, tooling, and engineering standards for agentic systems
  • Deliver first-year outcomes in reliability, workflow-integration speed, operational efficiency, and engineering leverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong software engineering background with experience independently delivering complex systems from idea through production
  • Hands-on experience building AI or agentic systems that have operated in production
  • Experience with reliability, latency, context management, failure modes, evaluation, and observability in real-world AI systems
  • Strong understanding of agents, tool use, structured outputs, context management, orchestration, evaluation, and feedback loops
  • Advanced practical use of modern LLMs and ability to build reliable workflows around probabilistic systems
  • Experience using coding agents and agentic development workflows in engineering processes
  • Experience decomposing complex engineering tasks across agents or specialized subagents and designing output verification and improvement mechanisms
  • Strong architectural judgment regarding LLMs, deterministic software, human intervention, and combined approaches
  • Experience with TypeScript / Node.js, or strong experience building AI systems in Python with willingness to apply it in a TypeScript-first environment
  • High autonomy, ownership, and comfort making decisions under ambiguity
  • Strong product judgment connecting technical decisions to operational and business outcomes
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in English
