About the role

  • Project management for cross-departmental and group-wide strategic topics, in particular the implementation of the heat transition
  • Steering and reporting of projects within the Heat business unit, including the further development of appropriate controlling instruments
  • Technical support for and representation of the Head of the Heat business unit in projects, committees and cross-departmental formats
  • Organization and coordination of cooperation within the Heat business unit as well as stakeholder management and strategic communication, internal and external
  • Holistic development, evaluation and implementation of complex technical and economic projects to optimize, expand and newly build energy generation and distribution systems, including preparation of decision papers and presentation materials for the Executive Board and committees

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Energy Engineering, Energy Economics, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable discipline
  • Solid technical knowledge of the design and operation of power and district heating generation and distribution systems, as well as general mechanical engineering and thermodynamics
  • Very good knowledge of energy-sector regulatory and legal frameworks, in particular relevant laws, regulations and standards (e.g., Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), Combined Heat and Power Act (KWKG), Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG), VDI, VDE, DIN)
  • Several years of professional experience in an energy engineering or energy-economics environment, ideally complemented by experience leading and managing complex projects
  • Strong IT and analytical skills, particularly with MS Excel, databases and common analysis tools
