About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate results in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure proper classification of all financial transactions.
- Review general ledger journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, cash, and inventory.
- Prepare all general ledger journal entries for capitalized software, debt, and equity.
- Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring proper support and resolution of variances.
- Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and vendor payments.
- Prepare all technical accounting assessments and memos.
- Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
- Coordinate with external auditors on year-end financial statement audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Develop, document, and maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes and systems.
- Identify and implement process and system enhancements, including AI-driven optimizations, to drive efficiencies and ensure the accuracy of the monthly close and daily accounting operations.
- Manage corporate credit card programs and expense reporting system, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Serve as a key point of contact for financial system maintenance and improvements (e.g., ERP administration and potential future implementations, integration with other systems).
- Provide financial support for operational teams, including budget-to-actual variance analysis for departmental expenses.
- Handle ad hoc accounting projects and analysis as required by senior leadership.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management or senior role.
- Prior experience in Big 4 Accounting, a large public company, and/or fast-paced technology, SaaS, or startup environment.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
