About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify new application opportunities driven by market trends and customer needs.
- Translate customer and market insights into technical opportunity concepts and application hypotheses.
- Define technical value propositions, performance targets, and areas of differentiation.
- Lead technical feasibility assessments including performance, scalability, manufacturability, cost structure, and sustainability considerations.
- Identify technical risks, gaps, and development needs, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Lead early‑stage application development activities.
- Develop and execute testing and validation plans.
- Integrate customer, market, and technical feedback to refine solutions through iterative development cycles.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for new business initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in R&D, application development, or technical innovation roles involving nonwovens, technical fabrics, or membranes is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to translate customer and market needs into technical solutions
- Proven experience leading cross‑functional technical projects in complex or ambiguous environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in an agile, exploratory, and fast‑paced environment
- Familiarity with innovation funnels and stage‑gate processes is preferred
- Previous B2C experience and strong business acumen are considered a plus
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
