About the role
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, month-end and year-end processes
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
- Produce accurate financial statements and management reports for multiple entities
- Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate tax records and support the preparation of tax filings (GST/QST, federal, provincial)
- Develop and maintain internal controls and documentation to support audit requirements
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions
- Assist in cash flow management and monitoring of key financial metrics
- Work with finance leadership to optimize accounting systems and processes and support implementation of tools such as NetSuite
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation or in progress strongly preferred
- 3-5+ years of experience in a full-cycle accounting role, ideally in a multi-entity or agency/startup environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance
- Proficiency with accounting software (experience with NetSuite is a strong asset) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication skills in English and French, both written and spoken
- High integrity, discretion, and a collaborative mindset
