Accountant

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll entries, month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals
• Produce accurate financial statements and management reports for multiple entities
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain accurate tax records and support the preparation of tax filings (GST/QST, federal, provincial)
• Develop and maintain internal controls and documentation to support audit requirements
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions
• Assist in cash flow management and monitoring of key financial metrics
• Work with finance leadership to optimize accounting systems and processes and support implementation of tools such as NetSuite
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy
