About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support Substation Optimization projects in the Carolinas East
  • Manage or assist with management of all phases of project planning and execution
  • Ensure project scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration success factors are met
  • Manage a portfolio of low- to moderate-risk projects
  • Provide leadership, oversight, delegation, and coordination with internal and external project service organizations
  • Guide matrixed team members daily and interface with functional leaders regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder communications
  • Structure, lead, or assist in project-related meetings
  • Prepare, communicate, and report monthly project status and required weekly/monthly communications
  • Develop and communicate project plans and reporting methods
  • Plan projects covering scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality
  • Champion project planning, estimating, scheduling, cost control, procurement and contracting strategies, equipment and vendor selection, commissioning, operations turnover, warranty management, and integration
  • Execute projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Develop and manage project deliverables including WBS, budget, risk, quality, safety, environmental, security, integration, data management, communications, change management, and closeout plans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's degree
  • 2 years related work experience
  • In lieu of Associate's degree and 2 years related work experience: High School/GED and 5 years related work experience
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Working knowledge to proficiency in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
  • Project-related work experience
  • Risk management and project leadership experience
  • Proven collaborative team member
  • Gas utility experience
  • Construction management knowledge
  • Working knowledge to proficiency in project-related scheduling and cost controls
  • Travel 5-15%
  • Must possess all basic/required qualifications
