About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support an engineering team delivering electric distribution solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers
  • Manage projects from concept through construction
  • Collaborate with customers, developers, contractors, and operations personnel to ensure successful project delivery and customer experience
  • Serve as primary contact for customers, stakeholders, and internal teams throughout new construction project lifecycles
  • Manage commercial and residential work orders
  • Own projects and coordinate communication from initial customer request through completion
  • Anticipate and address client needs and build relationships with diverse groups
  • Provide engineering and technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving increasingly complex problems
  • Contribute to team decision-making through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring work activities
  • Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
  • Conduct engineering and related studies
  • Complete engineering projects and manage project schedules and interfaces
  • Design, operate, and maintain systems
  • Develop positive working relationships and coordinate work activities
  • Maintain accurate records and files
  • Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally
  • Visit nearly every customer's construction site

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineer III: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Engineer III: Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience
  • Engineer III: A Master's degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Engineer II: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE
  • Engineer II: Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
  • Engineer II: A Master's degree in Engineering may be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering degrees preferred
  • Experience with CAD software, PoleForeman, and/or Maximo
  • Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam
  • Increasingly proficient in principles of project management
  • Experience in the utility industry
  • Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department
  • Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles
  • Increasingly proficient in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Reliable, consistent transportation
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
