About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support litigation attorneys in the Office of General Counsel and perform related duties
- Assist with litigation and pre-litigation legal matters, including commercial, environmental, personal injury, condemnation, contract dispute, labor and employment, and class action matters
- Draft and review complex legal documents and discovery responses under attorney supervision
- Investigate litigation-related facts and gather, organize, and coordinate information
- Interview company employees regarding litigated and pre-litigated matters
- Prepare case summaries, reporting entries, and PowerPoint presentations for the Board of Directors, senior leadership, auditors, and internal clients
- Attend meetings with outside counsel, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Review, proofread, and cite-check legal documents, and compile exhibits
- Track and update metrics and reporting using Excel, Teams, and other tools
- Track and manage dockets and procedural deadlines
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, charts, and other documents using Lexis Advance and web-based research tools
- Prepare and execute legal hold custodian notices, collection requests, custodial interviews, and other eDiscovery tasks
- Assist and collaborate with outside counsel and paralegals
- Develop and maintain SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, SFTP, and other electronic-media sites
- Handle confidential and proprietary information appropriately
- Complete assigned projects and assist attorneys with related assignments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate
- Alternatively, high school diploma/GED, at least seven years of experience with an in-house legal department or law firm, and active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and iManage
- Experience drafting legal documents
- Experience conducting legal research and using web-based research tools
- At least five years of related paralegal experience at a law firm or corporate legal department handling complex litigated and pre-litigated matters
- Experience with complex litigation case management
- Experience with the eDiscovery cycle and review
- Familiarity with applicable Florida Rules of Court and Evidence
- Proficiency with Lexis Nexis and/or WestLaw, including PACER
- Notary Public
- Demonstrated written and oral communication, grammar, and formatting skills
- Ability to manage multiple litigation and pre-litigation matters and reporting obligations
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail, accuracy, adaptability, and flexibility under time constraints
- Ability to prioritize, organize, coordinate work, take initiative, and exercise sound judgment
