About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the product team responsible for Duke Energy’s Microsoft 365 SharePoint-based workforce intranet, The Portal
  • Define, deliver, and manage the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio
  • Define and manage the product roadmap and product vision
  • Build, groom, and prioritize the product backlog while managing stakeholder expectations
  • Manage sprint planning and participate in sprint reviews, grooming, and retrospectives
  • Understand employee and contingent worker needs and ensure user-centric product design and architecture
  • Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, industry research, and peer benchmarking
  • Write functional specifications, user stories, and product documentation
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, analysts, site managers, and other cross-functional teams
  • Contribute to product vision, strategy, decision-making, execution, and measurement systems
  • Communicate roadmap stages and timelines to key stakeholders
  • Develop and communicate site standards and train site managers
  • Partner with site managers to foster collaboration and alignment on workforce value

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Four (4) years of related work experience in addition to the required degree
  • Alternatively, High School/GED and eight (8) years of related work experience
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Strong inclination toward action and preferably experience shipping software
  • Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to new product development teams
  • Ability to identify technology product innovation opportunities
  • Ability to be self-directed, anticipate problems, and seek opportunities
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across management and organizational levels
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC process
  • Ability to work in an agile environment with bi-weekly releases
  • Relevant new product or technology development experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience operating in a KPI-driven environment with accountability for determining actions to meet goals
  • Certified SCRUM Product Owner (desired)
  • Seven or more years working in the utility industry (preferred)
  • Experience as a Senior Product Analyst (preferred)
  • Agile Product Owner certification (preferred)
  • “Black Belt” Six Sigma certification (preferred)
  • Experience with Jira (preferred)
  • Experience owning or administering Microsoft SharePoint and associated Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Lists, Power Automate, and Forms (preferred)
  • Experience with SharePoint analytics packages such as Tygraph (preferred)
  • Experience applying content lifecycle management principles to large volumes of managed content or knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience applying user experience and accessibility best practices in digital experiences (preferred)
