About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Produce and present financial analysis and management reporting to the FP&A Organization and senior management
- Analyze and consolidate actuals, budgets, forecasts, year-end impacts, and variance explanations
- Analyze data and correct errors to ensure financial information accuracy and integrity
- Coordinate and support month-end close activities
- Analyze business unit O&M and capital variances and identify key drivers
- Prepare, check, and/or post journal entries and accruals as needed
- Work with internal and external auditors and provide requested information
- Establish business and financial processes supporting internal controls
- Maintain knowledge of accounting policies and impacts
- Support budget and business planning, including guidance, assumptions, calendars, and presentations
- Coordinate annual budgets using OneStream Hyperion Planning
- Build relationships and promote communication with business partners and Finance peers
- Identify cost reduction opportunities through independent analysis
- Identify, develop, and implement continuous process improvements
- Lead or assist with special projects and ad hoc requests
- Work overtime as needed during closing, planning, and process rollouts
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Senior Financial Analyst: 3+ years of increasingly diverse or complex related experience in addition to degree
- Financial Analyst II: 2+ years of increasingly diverse or complex related experience in addition to degree
- Fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
- Experience with PeopleSoft, OneStream, PowerPlan, or similar financial applications
- Experience with WebI, Power BI, cubes, or similar query tools
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: 6+ years of related experience
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting
- Preferred: CPA and/or Chartered Financial Analyst
- Preferred: Microsoft Business Intelligence Suite and PowerPivot
- Preferred: utility environment knowledge
- Ability to analyze financial information, variances, trends, and irregularities and summarize findings clearly
- Ability to meet deadlines and respond to changing needs
