About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide integral support to Duke Energy's Government & Community Relations department
- Support district managers and vice presidents in community relations
- Prepares correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, etc.
- Prepares and updates functional reports or records requiring compilation of information from multiple sources
- Receives, screens and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail and e-mail
- Maintains files and calendars
- Arranges business travel, coordinating meeting arrangements, and tracking expenses
- Supports regional volunteer coordination
- Assists with social media monitoring
- Supports NC storm/emergency preparedness plan pre/during/post event
- Manages foundation grant inquiries and processing
- Processes invoices
- Monitors and manages all emails and calls into the NC Environmental Justice account
- Assists with time entry for the North Carolina State President’s organization
- Ensures accuracy of community relations managers’ key contact lists
- Updates individual budget reports for community relations managers
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED
- Eight (8) years minimum of related work experience
- Prior strong administrative or secretarial experience
- Strong computer skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise and effective manner
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, ensuring tasks are done with accuracy
- Ability to effectively interface with multiple across a department, e.g. managers, supervisors, employees
- Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with changing conditions
