About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in diverse work groups within your department for each session
  • Manage equipment reliability and perform analysis and design of transmission lines and structures
  • Undertake short-term responsibilities in various groups including electric distribution design, distribution system planning, and distribution project management
  • Work with PMC engineers and project managers to develop, design, construct, and startup renewable solar and bulk energy storage technologies
  • Enhance skills through mentorship from industry professionals and training sessions
  • Engage in impactful projects that contribute to Duke Energy’s innovative initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Enrolled and pursuing an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, OR enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management or Computer Aided Drafting & Design
  • Must not graduate prior to Dec 2026
  • Cumulative college GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Ability to work a minimum of two non-contiguous co-op sessions
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications (CAD tools, MFAD, STAAD Pro, MATLAB, PSS/E, Power World)
  • Previous engineering work experience
