About the role

  • Serve as the technical conscience of the fleet by applying mechanical engineering principles and leveraging analytics to create data driven solutions
  • Scope outages and respond to emergent plant needs regarding turbines, generators, or supporting systems
  • Provide stations with recommendations based on expertise and historical data
  • Solve complex problems, manage work, and provide leadership to others in engineering areas of specialization
  • Serve in lead roles providing guidance to others and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Prepare and present recommendations and evaluate engineering and design issues
  • Perform work in power plant and office environments with field mobility as needed
  • Support Turbine and Generator Engineering objectives to optimize reliability and cost of centerline assets

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience
  • Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or PE
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Skilled in engineering theories and principles
  • Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Skilled principles of project management
  • Experience in the utility industry
  • Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department
  • Field Mobility – must live within a reasonable daily commute to assigned work location
  • Travel Requirements: 15-25%
  • Exposure to mechanical, electrical, noise or other industrial hazards and utilize appropriate protective equipment as needed
  • Occasional overtime including nights, weekends and holidays if required
  • Nuclear roles may require PE, Masters, SRO certification, or Technical Nuclear certification
