Economic Development Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage economic development leads/projects in the region
- Develop effective working relationships with economic development organizations
- Oversee activity, resources, negotiations, and packages for project closure
- Build trade ally network through membership in targeted organizations
- Implement strategies for creating economic growth
- Communicate across internal and external networks regarding leads
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project tracking within CRM
- Support and promote Duke Energy economic development programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business or adjacent field
- Five (5) years minimum required related experience
- Previous customer interface experience
- Comfort navigating complex challenges
- Understanding of the energy industry
- Experience in General Construction, Real Estate Development, Project Finance
- Proficiency with mapping programs
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
- Ability to manage internal and external relationships
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Effective interpersonal and human relations skills
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Ability to prioritize numerous multi-tasking requests
- Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Experience with a large multi-functional business unit
