Senior Civil Nuclear Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop the scope, technical basis, installation and testing requirements for engineering design changes
- Research engineering and design issues, evaluates alternatives, determines and presents recommendations to resolve issues
- Provide ongoing support of assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities
- Develop or revise design/procurement specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes
- Develop or revise complex engineering calculations impacted by engineering design changes
- Develop licensing screens and evaluations that support engineering design changes
- Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents impacted by engineering design changes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- A Master 's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 4-6 years of engineering experience
- Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
- State registration as a Professional Engineer (for Sr Nuclear Engineer position)
- Proficient in engineering theories and principles
- Proficient in principles of project management
- Experience in the utility industry
- Strong background in Mechanics of Materials
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis
- Working knowledge of Structural Analysis software (ANSYS, GTStrudl, or similar)
- Experience with Dynamic/Seismic Structural Analysis
- Working level knowledge of Stress Analysis software programs (SuperPipe, AutoPipe, Caesar II)
- Working knowledge of ASME Codes (examples: B31.1, Section III, Section IX, Section XI), AISC Steel Construction Codes (ASD, LFRD, and ACI Concrete Design Code)
- Familiarity with Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
