Senior Electrical Engineer – Nuclear
Duke Energy Corporation. Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity
- Provides proactive, as well as emergent design engineering support to ensure proper maintenance of site design basis
- Performs limited scope O&M (and in some cases, capital) engineering changes
- Provides support for design-focused NRC inspections
- Provides support for operability determination support in accordance with AD-OP-ALL-0105
- Performs design verification, checking, and other reviews as required for engineering products
- Provides technical input and reviews for Procurement Engineering evaluations
- Provides mechanical engineering support for design engineering organization during refueling outages
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. degree
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience (Nuclear Engineer III)
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience (Senior Nuclear Engineer)
- Additional Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam
- Registered Professional Engineer
- Direct experience in the utility industry
- Proficient in engineering theories and principles
- Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues
- Good written and oral communication skills
