developing and updating in-house transient analysis methodologies for power uprates and fuel cycle transitions
performing UFSAR Chapter 15 accident analyses
ensuring that each reload core design is performed in accordance with NRC approved methods
preparing thorough and accurate technical reports and documentation
collaborating with Duke, industry, vendor, and regulatory personnel

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
A Master 's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
4-6 years of engineering experience
Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
Experience with core and thermal hydraulic codes such as RETRAN and VIPRE or their equivalents
Familiarity with the basic systems of a Westinghouse or B&W NSSS reactor
Computer programming experience (FORTRAN/Python/VBA/etc.)
