Senior Civil Engineer, Brunswick Nuclear Plant

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare Engineering Change (EC) packages, calculations, specifications, procedures, and other technical documents.
- Perform independent design verification reviews of engineering products prepared by peers.
- Develop conceptual designs and specifications for project bidding purposes, evaluate alternative solutions, provide technical support during implementation activities, coordinate design efforts with selected vendors and perform design package reviews of outsourced engineering products.
- Manage the development, design, and implementation of modifications to the Brunswick Nuclear Plant while working in a team environment.
- Support of assigned engineering changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support activities.
- Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, determine and present recommendations to management to resolve issues.
- Develop or revise design specifications or technical requirements documents to support engineering design changes.
- Conduct formal self-assessments and benchmarking to ensure BNP engineering performance remains among the industry’s best.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- A Master 's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 4-6 years of engineering experience for Civil Engineer III
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Nuclear Engineer
- Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles
- Strong oral / written communication skills within a professional environment
- Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam and desire to obtain PE license
- Registration/Licensure as a Professional Engineer
- Background in pipe stress analysis
- Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
- Experience in the nuclear utility industry
- Experience in the 10CFR50.59 process with respect to designing modifications to a nuclear facility.
