Construction Manager – Contractor Specialist
Duke Energy Corporation. responsible for direct on-site oversight and execution of contractor construction, maintenance and restoration activities .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- responsible for direct on-site oversight and execution of contractor construction, maintenance and restoration activities
- manage the execution of Customer Delivery work plan in accordance with the Distribution Construction & Maintenance Scope & Method of Payment
- approve special equipment using the current CD process
- conduct productivity and quality assessments, job reviews
- monitor progress of work orders assigned to resources
- validate that contractors are progressing their work
- manage/validate prerequisite opportunities to ensure crews do not have roadblocks to starting the job
- supervise the documentation and communication of contractors’ performance issues and incidents
- build relationships and communicate with customers, builders, developers, electricians, and other area utilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- minimum four (4) years relevant work experience
- In lieu of required degree, High School/GED and minimum six (6) years relevant work experience
- OSHA certification preferred
- strong Distribution Customer Delivery experience (6 years)
- demonstrated working knowledge of Distribution Safe Work Practices
- working knowledge of Distribution design and quality standards
- demonstrated effective communication skills (oral and written)
- demonstrated good computer skills – knowledge of Distribution computer systems, Outlook and Microsoft Office products
- demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and team
- demonstrated experience in effectively handling of contract performance issues
