Lead Accounting Analyst

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
- Prepare financial schedules (capital expenditures, cash flows, footnote disclosures, etc.) required for SEC reporting
- Analyze the application of AFUDC on capital projects
- Support analysis regarding the calculation of depreciation
- Prepare and coordinate preparation and review of data requests, governmental filings, including quarterly and annual FERC reports
- Provide financial, accounting, and business management analytical support to various levels of management and customers
- Lead and coordinate special projects and data requests as needed
- Work with internal and external auditors, providing necessary information and answering questions as needed
- Maintain good working knowledge of accounting policies and impacts as required
- Champion process improvements to produce efficiencies at all stages of the accounting process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline
- Five (5) plus years of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
- Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
- Experience with financial applications (i.e., PeopleSoft, HFM, PowerPlan, etc.) and query tool (WebI)
- Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word and Power Point
